The guidance provides advice on the role of departments in supporting the Government’s commitments to equal opportunities in public appointments, and includes information on:

Government’s plan of action;
Annual review process for updating individual departmental action plans;
Ways to encourage individuals from under-represented groups to apply for public appointments;
Working Group on Public Appointments and Equal Opportunities;
Equal opportunities data monitoring requirements;
Sources of further information.

Target Audience

Those in central appointments teams and sponsor divisions within Government departments who have responsibility for appointments to public bodies.
