Consultation events
To follow the publication of our Interim Report for Consultation on 20
March 2006, we held a series of Consultation Events.
The purpose of the events was to determine whether the priorities we
identified in our report were the right ones, and to ensure that we capture
the views of a broad cross-section of people and organisations.
Almost 600 people took up this opportunity to discuss our interim findings
with members of the Equalities Review Panel.

Cardiff, 28 April 2006, with Trevor Phillips from the
Equalities Review Panel, as well as guest speaker Dr Charlotte Williams,
Keele University (formerly of University of Wales Bangor).
Glasgow, 2 May 2006, with Trevor Phillips from the
Equalities Review Panel, as well as guest speaker Fergus McMillan from LGBT
Youth Scotland.
London, 8 May 2006, with Sir Robert Kerslake from the
Equalities Review Panel, as well as guest speakers Karen Chouhan from the
1990 Trust, Ju Gosling from REGARD and TUDA, and Alan Wardle from
Stonewall.
York, 16 May 2006, with Trevor Phillips from the
Equalities Review Panel, as well as guest speaker Lee Jackson from Leeds
Faith in Schools.
Taunton, 26 May 2006, with Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas from
the Equalities Review Panel, as well as guest speaker Rowena Hayward from
Bristol City Council.
Birmingham, 1 June 2006, with Sir Robert Kerslake from the
Equalities Review Panel, as well as guest speaker Roger McKenzie from the
TUC.
Manchester, 5 June 2006, with Trevor Phillips from the
