eGovernment Conference
The Ministerial eGovernment Conference has resulted in a strong impetus to bring forward the European eGovernment agenda towards 2010. The Ministerial eGovernment Conference took place on 24-25 November in Manchester and was co–organised by the UK Presidency and the European Commission.
The Conference, attended by some 1000 participants, facilitated discussion on the ambitious goals for eGovernment in the in the context of the European Commission’s i2010 Initiative.
Participants included European Commissioners, Ministers, senior civil servants, CEOs, industry representatives, eGovernment experts and academics inspired by the strong political leadership of the co-hosts: UK Minister Jim Murphy and European Commissioner Viviane Reding.
The results of the Conference will be a major reference for future work in eGovernment in Europe and include:
A summary of the results of an eight-month study into the level of sophistication of e–Government across nine countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden,UK and USA.
A comprehensive assessment of the eAccessibility of government online services across the European Union (EU).
