The Central Strategy Unit provides strategic support to the e-Minister and the e-Envoy on their broader e-economy responsibilities.

The UK government is committed to developing the UK as the best environment for electronic business. The e-Strategy group will do this by working with partners across the public, private and voluntary sectors as well as internationally. e-Strategy looks at the following areas: internet access, modern markets and market analysis.

The CSU also compiles the monthly and annual reports to the Prime Minister, updates the Action Plan and manages the e-champions network. In addition, the unit has responsibility for Regions and International.
